More Burgers In Metairie

If you’ve ever wondered why Shake Shack has a cult following, you can see it for yourself soon. The delayed opening of the first-of-three New Orleans outposts of the fabled burger chain is this Friday the 20th of July, at 11am.

Shake Shack takes over the space formerly occupied by Lager’s on Veterans Blvd. The first 100 people in line will get “swag” (their word, not ours) from Shake Shack and Dirty Coast tee shirt. The insanely popular national chain bills itself as a classic “roadside” burger made with fresh, 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, antibiotic and hormone-free chicken and flat-top griddled hot dogs, crispy crinkle-cut fries, and fresh-made frozen custard.

These sweet treats will have a local flavor, since Haydel’s Bakery has partnered with Shake Shack to create future frozen phenoms, like:

The Metairie Mixer

Vanilla custard, fudge sauce, Haydel’s Bakery praline, and chocolate toffee.

Shack Attack

Chocolate custard, fudge sauce, Haydel’s Bakery chocolate brownie, Mast Brothers dark chocolate chunks, and chocolate sprinkles

Pie Oh My

Vanilla custard blended with a piece of Haydel’s Bakery seasonal pie.

Save room for dessert, because,

(For the life of the Shack, 5% of proceeds of Pie Oh My orders will be donated to LSPCA)

Local beers like Abita Beer, Nola Brewing Company, Dixie Beer, and Second Line Brewing will be offered alongside Shake Shack’s New York regular brews.

This Shake Shake will be followed by one at Canal Place, and at the new airport.
