We’re lucky on the Northshore because our favorite Chinese restaurant is probably the best Chinese restaurant in town. Full disclosure: Trey Yuen isn’t like a West Coast Chinese restaurant, but it’s the best Chinese food we can have. The five brothers who founded the restaurant can indeed cook like the West Coast chefs from China, but they know their clientele and give them the very best version of "American " Chinese.
The entry in our seafood parade for today comes from Trey Yuen. It is a platter of two softshell crabs quartered and served alongside a crawfish sauce, loaded with crawfish. The crabs are extra crispy and the sauce is spicy, and the combination of those two is superb. This combo comes with white rice and the entire dish is memorable.
