These are confusing but edible times for those of us who like tracking down summertime dining specials. We enjoyed the Coolinary, but it officially ended Saturday. We will enjoy We Live To Eat Restaurant Week, but that doesn't officially begin until next Monday, running until September 13.. In between, quite a few restaurants are keeping their Coolinary specials in place. (Call ahead; this is unpredictable, except for the stalwart Pelican Club.) However, I do have one concrete happening. Tonight in The Chicory (next to Ernst Cafe, 610 S. Peters, Warehouse District), the We Live To Eat organization has a party from 6-8 p.m. for $25. They say that a representative sampling of the food you will find during Restaurant Week will be there for the taking--and the price is only $25. Beer will flow, too. What is needed is for the Coolinary and We Live To Eat to merge, perhaps under a better name. But that's not our problem. All we need to do is show up and enjoy. Tickets are available here.
